Session Organiser: Jenny Simonsen, ITS Norway, Norway

This special interest session will explore the future of automated urban mobility and logistics. Will SAV, shared autonomous vehicles, play an essential role in transforming how we think about transport in cities, both passenger and goods? Will they enhance access to convenient transportation, reduce emissions, and revolutionise urban landscapes? Join us to discuss key topics, including integrating SAVs with public transport and the impact on sustainability, AI-powered safety measures, the interaction between manually operated and AV for passengers and goods, and the future implications for our cities. What steps must we take to unlock shared autonomous mobility's potential and shape a more sustainable, accessible, and safer urban future

In addition, we will discuss the barriers and potential showstoppers, like safety, ethical dilemmas, infrastructure readiness, social acceptance and public opinion. What are the opportunities, and how, who, and what should we do next? The expert panellist will share reflections and findings from projects like MODI and ULTIMO.
