There are more than 80 trials of autonomous bus (AB) system around the world in the past 10 years. With various results of these trials, it has been verified that autonomous bus service is applicable for a comparatively restricted areas, such as scientific parks, recreation areas, exclusive bus lanes/network and for providing feeder services in railway stations and airport terminals. However, a successful business model for sustainable operation of the heavy invested AB infrastructure is still a crucial issue while legal settlements for AB operation is another critical issue.

This Strategic Future Session will bring experts in autonomous mobility to share latest progress and identify challenges of AB based on their involvement and experience in various scales of AB trials. It is also expected that our invited speakers and audiences from both public and private sectors will share their visions and plans for a sustainable future AB operation.
