SIS 65 Innovative Aerial Services (IAS) - How might the future of mobility look like?
Information
Session Organiser: Vladimir Vorotovic, ERTICO, Belgium
We continue the story started at World Congress Hamburg in 2021. We moved on from UAM (Urban Air Mobility) to IAS (Innovative Aerial Services) wording. SIS will sketch an exciting picture of future mobility and major changes which happened since. Europe (through EC’s initiative) has developed Drone Strategy 2.0 in 2022. The Continent is at the cusp of commercial deployment of IAS. In parallel, we expect IAS flights in Dubai during the Congress.
The main goal is to support cities and regulators in preparing their responses and actions regarding emerging services enabled by eVTOLs for both goods and passenger’s transport.
The key questions to be tackled by us are: from the maturity of the technology in terms of safety and security to operational topics such as integration to the mobility fabric (e.g. MaaS) and to more social perspectives dealing with the questions: For whom? For what? How much? How safe?
And probably the ultimate question: Are we ready?
The session will explore answers to these questions and discuss the potential of IAS to contribute towards integrating the needs of cities for last mile transport for goods and people, fast medical response and health care, as well as traffic management.
