The session aims to address the readiness of city infrastructure for autonomous vehicles, highlighting the increasing reliance on CCAM (Cooperative, connected and automated mobility) services by connected vehicles and commuters for safer operations and informed travel amidst the automation revolution on roads. Panelists will draw from their experiences to discuss accomplishments, challenges, trends, technological advancements, and European CCAM policies within the urban services context.
The discussion will focus on questions concerning CCAM services:
- Defining CCAM / C-ITS and its service scope in the urban environment.
- Envisioning the future landscape of CCAM: Are mass rollouts imminent? What hurdles stand in the way, such as legislation, technological maturity, user acceptance, or other factors?
- Identifying key CCAM services tailored for cities: Multimodal Prioritization, Traffic Light Assistance, Green Light Optimal Speed Advisory, Probe Vehicle Data, and any other pertinent services.
- Assessing the most impactful CCAM services and their potential for substantial change.
- Exploring the relationship between Autonomous Vehicles (AVs) and Infrastructure and ITS CCAM services: How do they intersect, and what is the potential synergy between them?
