There are many challenges and opportunities for a user-friendly EV-ecosystem. Millions of new charging points are needed in all regions, to support the growing EV market. This requirement is significantly changing the charging infrastructure, utilities and power grid requirements. However, competition has led to different charging standards, payment solutions and unpredictable access to, and the status of charging stations. The charging ecosystem is vendor-driven and, in many instances, cumbersome for users.

Transitioning to a climate-friendly transportation sector opens excellent opportunities for industry, service providers and EV users. How do we transform possibilities into a tangible and user-friendly charging ecosystem? This topic involves multiple sectors and disciplines like energy, mobility, app development, and payment services. Actors must focus on the user's needs and, simultaneously, be able to zoom out to meet demands for standards and solutions that serve society. After running national and international projects for years, the panellists are experts in this field. From European projects (e.g. eCharge4Drivers) and national initiatives (e.g. in Norway and Canada), they will inform us of the pitfalls, share their knowledge, and help the audience see the great industrial opportunities ahead of us.
