Session Organiser: Wolfgang Treinen, Berlin Partner for Business and Technology, Germany Metropoles such as Berlin, Beijing or Dubai are known for their innovation spirit, vibrant ecosystems and dynamic start-ups. They also have a high reputation in research and innovation, in particular regarding mobility management and ITS. Under the coordination of Berlin, highly renowned companies, research institutions and administrations from these metropoles come together to discuss current and upcoming visions, innovations and projects, addressing at the same time current and upcoming mobility challenges and how solutions contribute to solving these. The topics that will be addressed will focus on: Automated driving, public transport, acceptance and usability, human-centred technology development of automated vehicles, sustainable mobility planning and city-friendly commercial transport, video-based analysis of transport risks or reduction of accident risks via AI or LiDAR Technology. The goal of the session is to present insights into the variety of innovative solutions from the metropolitan regions, This session will be organized as a panel discussion between the speakers on their approaches to current and upcoming challenges, lessons learned, visions and steps towards realizing them. Similarities and differences will be discussed and ways to learn from each other identified. Questions from the audience will be enabled.
