Euro NCAP

Euro NCAP or the European New Car Assessment Programme is a not-for-profit organisation that provides reliable, comprehensive and timely consumer information on the safety of new passenger cars as well as more recently commercial vans and trucks. Our goal is firmly set on Vision Zero, to ensure that there are zero accidents and fatalities on European roads. Through a network of labs based across Europe and China, we independently crash-test cars and assess the latest technologies of vehicles to deliver an accurate ‘star’ rating of safety performance. European regulations create a framework for safety and establish a baseline, Euro NCAP encourages industry to set ambitions higher and ‘go beyond’. Over 900 cars have been tested since Euro NCAP began 25 years ago. As road infrastructure innovates and industry sets its ambitions on more sustainable, increasingly automated vehicles and data-driven mobility, the safety and security of consumers remains paramount, and Euro NCAP’s role is even more crucial.
